Meet Michael Peck: Conscious
Embodiment Coach & Retreat Leader
A Journey from Personal Healing to Community Service
Michael Peck (he/they) was not always a yoga teacher or somatic therapist. Growing up in regional Australia, he struggled with asthma, weight issues and related mentalhealth
challenges. Determined to make a change, he embraced a healthier lifestyle in his early 20s and discovered yoga. That practice opened a pathway to deep healing and transformation. Almost a decade later he left Sydney for London seeking adventure and more spiritual depth. Following a lifechanging Ayahuasca retreat in Peru, he devoted himself to studying yoga, breathwork, meditation, reiki, Tantra and somatic movement. Today he is a Conscious Embodiment Coach based in East London. With more than 800 hours of training, he tailors TRE®, yoga, somatic therapy, Tantra and sacred sexuality practices to meet individual and group needs.
The Power of Tension & Trauma Release Exercises
(TRE®)
Tension and Trauma Release Exercises (TRE®) are a set of gentle movements that activate the body’s natural tremor mechanism to discharge stress and trauma. In Mike’s workshops, participants learn to shake off the deep tension stored in muscles and joints. These neurogenic tremors help reset the nervous system and promote relaxation and he has regular workshops at londonlgbtqcentre.org. Research supports TRE®: reported benefits include lower stress and fatigue, reduced anxiety, decreased PTSD symptoms, improved sleep and digestion, greater selfesteem and fewer headaches. TRE® can also increase selfawareness and resilience. Mike, a Certified TRE® provider, creates a safe and nurturing space where clients can explore this practice without re-traumatisation. His inclusive approach allows queer and marginalised people to feel held while releasing longheld tension

Yoga for Body & Mind
Yoga is at the heart of Michael’s teaching. The practice offers something for everyone—flexibility, balance, strength, mental focus, resilience, relaxation and deeper spiritual connection. Mike’s classes draw from dynamic vinyasa, Rocket, Tantra, Anusara, Yin and Hatha styles. He values professionalism, integrity, collaboration and mutual respect.
Whether guiding beginners through foundational postures or challenging advanced students to explore their edge, he infuses each class with sacredness of the heart and recognition of the divinity of all beings.
Tantra & Sacred Sexuality
Tantra is often misunderstood as purely sexual, but it is a spiritual practice that weaves together body, mind and spirit. In classical Hindu and Buddhist traditions, Tantra aims at
spiritual liberation; NeoTantra in the West focuses on sensuality and personal empowerment. Mike teaches Conscious Embodied Intimacy, blending classical and neotantric philosophies with somatic movement. His sessions begin with grounding meditation, move into chakra activation through intention, movement, breath and sound, and progress to partner exercises and conscious touch. Participants are encouraged to explore their fantasies and vulnerabilities as pathways to selfdiscovery.
Retreats & Community Leadership
Beyond oneonone sessions and local workshops, Mike leads multiday retreats in beautiful locations. He launched his first retreat “Unfold: Yoga & Wellbeing Retreat for GBTQ+
Men” in Mallorca this past summer and is co-facilitating at six retreats at Qasa, a queer retreat centre in Costa Rica in 2026. Mentalhealth retreats for the queer community offer
unique benefits: they provide a safe environment for selfreflection, a break from daily stressors, connection with likeminded people, access to professional guidance and structured
programs that promote personal growth and wellbeing. Participants often leave retreats feeling calm, rejuvenated and equipped with new coping skills. By integrating yoga, TRE®,
somatic therapy, meditation and Tantric practices, Mike’s retreats offer immersive experiences that support healing, selfdiscovery and community building. In group settings, he
facilitates exercises that encourage vulnerability, cooperation and mutual support—qualities essential for queer communities seeking spaces of belonging.

Commitment to the Queer Community
Michael’s passion for serving the queer community is woven throughout his work. Growing up gay in a conservative environment, he understands the unique trauma and shame that LGBTQ+ individuals often carry. His events—such as “Shake It Off Naturally with TRE®” at the London LGBTQ+ Community Centre—are explicitly queerinclusive and designed to provide stress relief, trauma release and community connection. By integrating spirituality with sexpositivity and traumainformed care, Mike creates spaces where queer
people can explore embodiment, intimacy and healing safely and joyfully.
